A Pristine Bay Roatan Resort Vacation is Not For You If...
1. You Want Crowds
Pristine Bay Roatan Resort is beautiful... and new... and not quite finished. As a result, there aren't a ton of people there... yet. So, if you want to enjoy a week of peace and solitude while living in luxurious surroundings, check it out. If, on the other hand, you enjoy meeting new people sitting on the beach side by side in a long row of beach chairs, Pristine Bay may not be for you.
2. You Want Noise
Other than the distant sound of construction back up the hill around the golf course, Pristine Bay is quiet. It is not a hotel on a strip of beach, it is a large, self-contained resort and, well... it's quiet. There are no battling beach bar stereos. There are no crowds of loud, inebriated toursists in the pool. There aren't a bunch of jet skis ripping through the water just off the beach. If you like beach vacation noise, hit West Bay. Pristine Bay is not for you.
3. You Want Eating/Drinking Options Within Walking Distance
Because Pristine Bay is self-contained, your dining options are the resort's restauarants. There are three of them (one is actually not walking distance). They are very nice, but this isn't West End by a long stretch (at least in the food dining department). There are a couple of places worth visiting not far from the resort (Frenchy's comes to mind), but trying a number of different restaurants/cuisines over your stay will require some driving (probably to West End!).
4. You Have an Unnatural Fear of Golf Carts
Like a lot of high-end, gated resorts (or even neighborhoods), golf carts are a great way to get around. As a result, they are everywhere. They take you to your villa in them. The wonderful staff at Pristine Bay will take you to the golf course in them. They will take you to see the villa or property you dream of one day buying in them. They even take you over to the attached hotel, Las Verandas, in them. And, of course, they will let you take one if you play a round on the Black Pearl. If you don't like lots of little vehicles running silently about, Pristine Bay may not be the Roatan resort for you.
5. Your Prefer "Rustic" Accommodations and Amenities
This is not a value judgement. Some people really want that island-home feel when they vacation in the Caribbean. At Pristine Bay, you will have peace, a few nice restaurants, all the golf carts you ever wanted and unreal island views, but you will not have classic island accommodations. This is a high-end place: from the travertine tile to the Honduran hardwood cabinets to the stainless appliances and granite counters, the fit, finish and furnishings are top notch. So, too, are the amenities. The Pristine Bay Beach Club is truly world class. There is nothing "rustic" about the place. So, for the thatched roof, no AC, no pool, sleep in a hammock kind of place, look elsewhere as Pristine Bay is not for you.
What are the other Roatan vacation rental options?
- If you want to share a beautiful beach and pool with a bunch of fellow tourists while staying in a condo a bit off the water, look into West Bay.
- If you want recluse-like seclusion in more rustic accomodations, take a look at vacation rentals on the Eastern half of the island on sites like VRBO and Homeaway.
- If you want to stay where you play with walking-distance activities, restaurants and night life, West End is the only game in town.
Even though it is small and still developing, Roatan has a wide variety of options to fit most vacation tastes. Give us a call or CLICK HERE and we would be glad to help you decide which location is right for you.
