Private, shared space...
A place to hang out together with family or friends, listen to music (or not), have a conversation (or not), play some cards (or not)... it's all up to you. And it's one of the big advantages vacation rentals have over a resort or hotel.
What's the Point of a Roatan Vacation?
People take vacations for a variety of reasons, but a dominant theme is to relax or unwind or take a break from the realities of day-to-day, working life. A big part of that break from the "real world" is the precious opportunity to spend some quality time with friends and/or family. To be sure, some of that time is captured on activities, dining out or simply walking around. But the rest of that time depends on relaxing together, and that can be where hotels and resorts fall flat.
The relaxation options in most Roatan resorts or hotels include the bar, the pool, and the lobby. Otherwise, it's back to the room with you. But what if your group is too big for a hotel room? Then, where do you just hang out? The answer is... well, there isn't a good answer. That's why in a 2012 profile of the American traveler, over 80% of the respondents cited "More space, overall" as one of the top reasons they choose vacation rentals as an alternative to staying in a traditional hotel or resort.*
Shared Space at Our Roatan Vacation Rental
Our villas are built to maximize your enjoyment of these shared spaces. The patios and balconies are generously sized with room for both outdoor dining and relaxation. We have installed high-end sound systems and purchased resort-caliber furnishings to create environments that encourage our guests to slow down, take it easy and relax... together.
In our experience, we have found that most guests point to some time spent on the patio together as one of the fondest memories of their Roatan vacation.
The interior shared spaces are just as important. Whether for dining, or having a movie night in front of the LED flat-panel TV, the guiding principle in our design and selection of furnishings was to maximize our guests' comfort and ability to hang out together or, more appropriately, hang in together. And because both of these shared but private spaces come in the form of a beachfront villa overlooking Half Moon Bay, the sites and sounds of the Caribbean are part of the Roatan vacation rental package.
So, the next time you are in the market for vacation accomodations, make sure you strongly consider the vacation rental alternative. And the next time that vacation takes you to Roatan, be sure to give us a shout a Coral Vista Villas. We would love to make our shared space, your shared space for a week or more very soon.
