Work. Kids. Aging Parents. More kids. There are literally not enough hours in the day or days in the year. Our friends, it seems (some would say spouses!), get the short end of the stick. But it doesn't have to be that way.
Who has not had the desire to pull that core group of friends together to create your own, personal, "big chill" moment? Caution: you will absolutely date yourself if you get the reference without the use of Google.
The Big Chill Formula
Perhaps you have been lucky enough to stay in touch with your best buds. Maybe you have even been lucky enough to find some time to get together over the years. If so, you know how much work it is and how hard it can be to achieve that elusive goal of getting away, reliving the good times and creating great new memories with your closest friends. And if you haven't been fortunate enough to get the gang together, here's your chance.
After a fair bit of trial and error, I'm convinced there's a repeatable formula to achieving the Big Chill moment - and it doesn't involve a funeral! It obviously starts with selecting the right group of people. That one's up to you. Assuming you have a good idea who you want on the trip, here's what you need to do:
5: Let the Moment HappenFinally, and this is key, make sure you reserve a fair bit of room in the agenda (two or three evenings out of seven, for example) and set up the conditions for those truly memorable moments to happen. While your friends will undoubtedly remember that thrilling zip line run, or amazing tee shot on 11, or spectacular Eagle Ray they saw on the last dive of the day, their experience will invariably be defined by that evening on the deck or dinner on the patio when everyone just "sat around and talked". You can spice these moments up by hiring a private chef for a night (provided you took our advice on Step 3) or ordering in from the local Thai place, but at its most basic - all you have to do is hold the time and have the space. With the right group of people (and a few secrets for an awesome vacation with friends), the magic just seems to happen.
One Step to an Awesome Roatan Vacation with Friends
If this all sounds great but you find yourself thinking "Ok, where do I start? What's that 'someplace different' I should choose?", there is an easy way to combine all five of these secrets into a single step. You can rent a beautiful villa in the heart of the action on an undiscovered island in the Western Caribbean where activities range from golf to scuba to zip lining to snorkeling to fishing, where the beach is at your doorstep, and where shops, restaurants and nightlife are a very short walk away. You can take advantage of 24 hour concierge service, and you can lounge on the patio or in the pool and watch the clouds drift by. All you have to do is click here.
